If, or when

Keep if in the ordinary verb, and change the verb after quan.

Si arribo, et truco keeps both verbs ordinary. Quan arribi, et trucaré changes the verb, because it has not happened. Si does not take that changed verb.

• Si arribo d'hora, et truco.If I arrive early, I call you.
• Quan arribi, et trucaré.When I arrive, I will call you.
• Si plou demà, em quedo a casa.If it rains tomorrow, I stay home.
• Quan plogui, em quedaré a casa.When it rains, I will stay home.
• Si pots, vine.If you can, come over.
• Quan puguis, truca.When you can, call.
• Si no pots, avisa'm.If you can't, let me know.
• Espera fins que pugui venir.Wait until I am able to come.
